Leigh Bland

I am a Royal Air Force veteran, i sustained injury to my leg in 2009, due to my injury and medical issues i had my right lower leg amputated in 2013, i served 17 and a half years in the RAF until my medical discharge in 2016.

I competed in the first Invictus Games in London 2014, I went on to being on the GB Paralympic academy for archery.

I have competed at international level in disabled strongman, and qualified for international level in disabled bodybuilding winning multiple awards.

I have mental health difficulties, battling anxiety disorder , depression and ptsd and openly share my journey in the hopes it will encourage others to open up and seek help they may need #itsoknottobeok .

In 2020 my journey in sport took a crazy and dramatic turn with me taking up triathlon, in 2021 I got my classification at PTS4 Paratriathlete and competed in my first Para Tri Super Series winning the overall series for 2021.

2022 has started well building new friendships and partnerships and i look forward to taking on the Para Tri Super series again with hopes to take it to the next level within my sporting career.
