A founder member of the Atherton Bikes team, Rob loves designing and making objects. This is true as much for soap box racers and treehouses as it is for intricate electro-mechanical systems and topology optimised structures. Rob has developed his skill as a designer working for the last 18 years in companies that range from tech start-ups to multi-nationals. Prior to Atherton Bikes Rob was the Principal Designer for Mechanisms across the Zodiac Aerospace Aircraft Interiors group but he can also take credit for Omlet’s Beehaus and was part of the team who brought Dyson’s DC25, the next generation “ball” vacuum cleaner, to market. His core approach to any design problem is: simple is good. Rob is a passionate environmentalist who recently designed and built a Passivhaus where he lives with his young family. When not designing you’ll find him riding bikes or digging tracks.
