Named as one of the top 100 Women in Cycling, 2023 (CyclingUK) Amy
Hudson, known as @amy.cycling.adventures on social media, is a passionate cyclist and mental health advocate. After discovering cycling in lockdown, when struggling with her mental health, it has since become a significant part of her life.
After leaving her job as mental health nurse due to her own illness, cycling gave Amy an escape from what was going got her in mind. Amy believes in the power of cycling and the outdoors to improve mental health and aims to encourage others to experience these benefits.
“Cycling is my happy place and I don’t know where I’d be now if I wasn’t given a bike when I was at my lowest.”
Amy has undertaken some ambitious challenges and raised money for charity along the way. This includes: a 1200km Audax, Paris-Brest-Paris, in 72hours; coming 3rd in the National 24hr Time Trial, cycling 394 miles.
